About Botox®

Juvederm® Voluma is an FDA-approved injection designed to add volume to key mid-facial areas (like the upper cheeks) that have volume loss due to aging and sagging. It’s designed specifically for injection under the skin of the cheek area because it has less potential for migration than other fillers on the market. It can also be used in adults above 21 to augment and improve the chin profile. Juvederm Voluma XC contains hyaluronic acid, a natural compound that provides a temporary augmentation while encouraging the body’s collagen production.

A typical treatment takes about 10-15 minutes to perform, depending on the areas that are being treated.

There’s no downtime associated with this procedure, so you can continue with your regular routine. You may notice some swelling and redness at the injection site, but this usually disappears within 30 minutes. Bruising can occur and may take a couple of days after the injection to resolve.

You should begin to see minimized wrinkles and fine lines about 3 to 7 days after your treatment—full effect by one week. Results can last anywhere from 3 to 4 months but vary per patient.

You’re a good candidate for Botox if you have mild-to-moderate signs of wrinkles and fine lines. The ideal candidate does not have significant loose skin because Botox® is only useful in treating expression lines; it cannot repair sagging skin caused by aging.
