A brow lift is a surgical intervention designed to raise the eyebrows and reduce wrinkles on the forehead. The goal of the treatment is to give the patient’s complexion a smoother and more beautiful appearance.
Brow Lift Overview
As patients get older, many begin to notice their upper eyelids begin sagging and deep wrinkles appear on their foreheads. Brow lifts fight back against this process by specifically addressing weakened connective tissue and slacker muscles in the upper portion of the face. Dr. Schalit carries out the surgery by making a series of incisions along the scalp, lifting the entire forehead upwards to better reveal the eyes and smooth engrained furrows.
Brow Lift Preparation
A brow lift is a significant cosmetic intervention requiring substantial preparation ahead of time.
Dr. Schalit and the team will first review your medical history, and talk about any previous conditions that might have a material impact on the outcome of the surgery. You will also undergo a physical examination to determine the precise nature of the treatment and where the incisions will be made.
Dr. Schalit will then discuss with you your expectations for the treatment and show you examples of the kinds of results you can expect. He will also advise you of lifestyle changes that you might want to make before undergoing the procedure to enhance recovery. These might include stopping smoking or avoiding certain medications in the days and weeks before you come to the clinic.

Brow Lift Procedure
Patients typically receive brow lift procedures under general anesthetic. Thus, the last thing most people remember is receiving an injection from the anesthetist.
There are several different types of brow lift procedures that Dr. Schalit could use, depending on your needs.
Hairline brow lifts, for instance, require making an incision at the top of the forehead along the hairline, removing a small amount of scalp before stitching the skin back together.
A coronal brow lift is a slightly extended version of the hairline brow lift where Dr. Schalit makes an incision from ear to ear.
Lastly, an endoscopic brow lift requires making several incisions behind the hairline and inserting instruments through the holes to adjust the position of forehead tissues from the inside.
Brow Lift Recovery
After the procedure, Dr. Schalit and the team will make every effort to ensure your comfort and enhance the speed of your recovery.
Swelling is likely to be a significant issue after surgery, so you may need to use a cold compress. You’ll also need to avoid any excessive pressure on stitched areas.
Am I a Candidate for a Brow Lift?
If you are generally in good health but do not like the appearance of your upper eyelids or forehead, then you might be a candidate for a brow lift. It could substantially improve your self-confidence.
I take care of myself and wanted to look how I feel. I was concerned about having plastic surgery because I did not want to look unnatural. Dr. Schalit recommended an endoscopic brow lift along with a mid face lift. I know I made the right decision in choosing Dr. Schalit! I look like myself but well rested and a little bit younger. A special thanks to Micha and Stacy for all their kindness and support. As a matter of fact thank you Dr. Schalit and all of your staff. You are all terrific!
